The crucial distinction of Youth Empowerment Services is the real life experience and credibility, as far as young people are concerned. Ex-offenders have ‘walked the walk’ and been in similar situations to where the young people are now. This has an exceptional and unique impact on young people and the levels of engagement.
Delivering interventions which directly relates to both facilitator and young person creates a level of identification and credibility which maximises the potential to gain the attention and respect of the young people.
The ability of our facilitators to role-model and de-glamorise crime, whilst confronting young people with the stark realities of offending and negative behaviour patterns, increases levels of engagement and promotes an effective learning environment, beyond that experienced by young people with facilitators they cannot identify with.
It is this fundamental aspect which sets Youth Empowerment apart from other products currently available. The ex-offenders experience of rehabilitation and change has the ability to inspire and promote self-belief that change is both positive and achievable for all young people. Youth Empowerment Crime Diversion Scheme truly has the ability to get to the heart of the issues which underpin the offending related behaviours and attitudes of young people.
